Spa Policy

Thank you for taking the time to read our spa polices. We reserve the right to make changes at our discretion and we strive for you to always be informed. Policy updates are sent to our clients who opt-in for notification however it is the clients responsibility to read and understand those changes before each appointment. Violation of a policy can result in refusal of service at the clients expense and THE WAX SPA  exist for each client to have the best experience with us. 

Cancellation

Your wax technician will be ready to service you even if you cannot make your appointment. Please give no less than 24 hours notice if you cannot make it. To cancel, call during business hours, leave a voice or text message or use the cancellation link sent in your 72 and 24 hours reminders. Less than 12 hour notice will incur a 30% of service courtesy charge. Failure to give notice of absence or pay courtesy charge may result in rejection of future bookings.

Cell Phones

We strive to create a relaxing environment for all guest therefore cell phone use should remain quiet.  Loud ringers, loud talking, public music playing is strictly prohibited. 

Children 

We accept children as young as 9 years old for body waxing as long as they can tolerate the discomfort. We recommend waxing over shaving or depilatory creams which cause the hairs to grow more dense, coarse and can burn the skin. For facial waxing we recommend children 12 and older because removing vellus hairs (baby hairs) can exacerbate growth with dark, thick hairs.  Those under the age of 16 must be accompanied with an adult.

Client Records

Client Records are confidential and an updated record must be on file before being serviced. 

Convenience Charge

Our current Point of Service provider charges a 3.5%  convenience fee of total service  cost for use of debit or credit card payment. To forgo this charge, simply pay cash. Sorry we do not accept an other forms of payment. Please bring exact cash amount before service as minimal cash is kept in the Spa. Truist bank (formley  BB&T)ATM is located next door.

Differently Abled Persons

We are located  on the first floor with two step entry. Sorry, pets are not allowed. Pets are not service animals. Currently, only service dogs are welcome. Please make sure your dog is identifiable according to Virginia Law. 

Discounts, Deals and Promotions

Discounts such as referral discounts are usually applied to lesser value service or item unless otherwise specified. Some discounts may not be, used with other deals or transferred and are for limited time use. Please inquire about a particular discount or promotion before participating.

Late Arrival

Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your appointment. You may need to complete or update  your client record form. First time client will need to have a consultation before service is rendered. Please call if you are more than 15 minutes late, you may need to be rescheduled. If you are unable to be rescheduled the day of your appointment, you will incur a 30% of service courtesy charge.

Mask Wearing

If you are not fully Covid 19 vaccinated, please continue to wear a mask over your mouth throughout the spa until you are in a private room or area. Your technician may be vaccinated, however they will remain masked at all times.

Picture/Video

Our wax technicians will ask you for permission to use non identifying video and/or picture of the body part being serviced solely for The Wax Spa official social media platforms. Our technicians and staff ask you for the same courtesy. Photo and /or video of technician, technician voice or service without their consent is prohibited.

Return/Refunds

Products such as scrubs and moisturizers are non refundable and non-exchangeable. Free samples of product may be available to try before purchase. In the rare instance that a product or service payment needs to be refunded, it will be issued in full to the original form of payment immediately but may take 5-7 business days to be deposited in the account.

Sign- In

Please sign-in at the front desk to complete necessary forms. Those with temperatures above 98.7 will be asked to forfeit an appointment and reschedule. Also if the waiting room is not available, you may be asked to sign in via text from your car and we will call or text to come in.
